Kedron in partnership with Livit Films run by Patrick Rhea worked closely with Costa Del Mar’s head of Global Product Marketing Manger John Murer to create a highly anticipated product launch campaign.

The King Tide Sunglasses are the crowning achievement of Costa’s 40 years on the water, utilizing the research and innovations from every frame that came before it. In nature, a King Tide requires the perfect alignment of Earth and moon to create once-in-a-lifetime views and opportunities for watermen. Like their namesake, the King Tide is designed to give the ultimate advantage on the water. Made for watermen who demand performance in every sport.

Key Features // Creative Solutions Lead the Way

Costa Del Mar approached Kedron with a unique challenge. They sought to introduce their new product line in a manner that would captivate their target audience, differentiate themselves from competitors, and convey a sense of innovation and style. The company envisioned a campaign that showcased their sunglasses in various environments and angles but faced limitations with conventional photography and video techniques. Primarily, the new features of the King Tide couldn’t be captured in camera. Shark-Inspired Venting achieves a near impossible zero-fog effect but you can’t see wind passing through them. The removable side shields for optimal viewing can’t be shown with someone's hand covering it when it's taken on and off. The top of the line Sweat Management and drains keep your view dry and unobstructed but you can’t see it in action while the talent is wearing the glasses. Kedron Studios recognized the potential of using highly stylized art direction and 3D modeling, texturing and animation to overcome the limitations of traditional cameras. By simulating real-world environments and virtual models, they could manipulate angles, lighting, and effects with unparalleled precision and creativity. The team of experienced artists and designers at Kedron set out to create visually stunning and interactive content that would elevate the King Tide product launch to new heights for the 40th year anniversary.
